Achadas da Cruz: a piece of paradise

Our adventure takes us to Achadas da Cruz (1), one of our absolute favorite places on the island. Get ready for a bit of a thrill, because this is where we first descend 600 m - with the steepest cable car in Europe and a gradient of 98%. For anyone who gets a little nervous at the thought of the cable car ride: it only takes a very short 5 minutes. It's worth it, because once you reach the bottom, peace and relaxation and a breathtaking landscape await you. Simply a beautiful spot between the wild Atlantic Ocean and high green cliffs. After the ascent by cable car, a fantastic view and a Portuguese coffee await us - choose between a bica and a garoto.

Porto Moniz: refreshing sea pools
Need to cool off? In Porto Moniz (2), natural sea pools between black volcanic rock await us.We also show you the more hidden and quieter ones. We make a 30-minute stop to take a quick dip in the crystal-clear water before heading back towards the south coast.

Ponta do Sol - relaxing on the beach

After a refreshing swim, we head to the charming coastal village of Ponta do Sol (3).Here we have the opportunity to discover Madeiran cuisine, have a cold drink to the sound of the waves (not included) or simply enjoy the breathtaking view of the sea and the island's landscape.If you want to jump into the cool water again, you can of course do that too.

Cabo Girão: skywalk adventure

We continue along the coast to Cabo Girão (4), the highest cliff in Europe. Here we have the opportunity to experience the famous Skywalk, a platform with a glass floor from which you have an incredibly beautiful view of the ocean.

Câmara de Lobos: Poncha Time!

The day wouldn't be complete without another traditional delicacy: poncha! We try the island's most famous drink where it was invented: Camara de Lobos (5), a picturesque fishing village known for its colorful boats and lively atmosphere. Madeira's drink, made from sugar rum, fresh fruit juice and honey, is the perfect way to toast our wonderful day. Cheers to us - à nossa!

Back to Funchal - what a day

Our tour is coming to an end and we are heading back to Funchal, where we will take you back to your ship to set off on further adventures. Or, of course, you can head to the city center to discover more of Funchal's old town.
