MADEIRA'S WARMEST PLACES
Hey, sun-seekers! Ready for Madeira's places with the most hours of sunshine? Come with us to the vibrant south side of the island, fill up on vitamin D and discover great coastal spots. Summer is on!
We'll kick things off by picking you up at either Funchal city center, Lido or Caniço. Let's go and make some sunny memories!
Cable Car Rancho
A truly hidden gem tucked away beneath the Cabo Girão Skywalk, the Cable Car Rancho offers a unique journey down the dramatic cliffs to peaceful farming terraces by the Atlantic Ocean (1). This secluded spot showcases Madeira's traditional agricultural landscape, where local farmers still cultivate the fertile land just steps from the sea. The breathtaking coastal scenery and tranquil atmosphere make it one of the island's most authentic and lesser-known experiences.
Ribeira Brava - coffee time
Our next stop is on the way to Ribeira Brava's best viewpoint. In truly Madeiran tradition we'll have a quick "coffee booster, whether it's a bica or a garoto. Fuel up for today's adventure! Next up, get your (smartphone)camera ready, because we are heading to the Miradouro São Sebastião (1). A fantastic panoramic of the Atlantic Ocean and the sea bay of Ribeira Brava awaits us.
Jardim do Mar - cute little streets and paradise vibes
Next, we head to Jardim do Mar (3), a charming seaside village known for its relaxed atmosphere. Wander through its narrow, flower-lined streets, soak in the peaceful coastal ambiance, and experience the authentic charm that makes this one of Madeira's most beloved hidden gems.
Paul do Mar: charming surfer vibes
We're off to Paul do Mar (4), a charming village radiating surfer vibes. Feel the laid-back atmosphere as you explore this coastal gem.
Calheta Beach: lunch by the sea
Lunchtime! For this we picked a special place: the marina of Calheta (5). Alternatively, you can just relax on the beach and soak up some sun.
Ponta do Sol: warmth and beauty
Our next stop is Ponta do Sol (6), the warmest spot on the island. The small colourful village must be explored, of course. Enjoy the summer vibes and soak up the sun and the lively hustle and bustle. If you like, try one of the craft beers the place is known for. After all, it's your vacation!
Poncha Time!
We end our adventure in Quinta Grande (7), in one of our favourite local Poncha Bars, before we head back to Funchal! Of course, we won't miss the chance to taste this local specialty. Cheers to us!
